On September 20, local time, the U.S. Federal Reserve concluded its two-day monetary policy meeting and announced that it would maintain the current federal funds rate target range of 5.25-5.50%, in line with market expectations. Since the start of the interest rate hike cycle last year, the Federal Reserve has raised interest rates a total of 11 times, with a cumulative rate increase of 525 basis points.
Although the Federal Reserve did not move its policy interest rate today, it gave the message through economic expectations that interest rates are likely to be raised this year and that expectations for an interest rate cut next year have been reduced.
