SMM daily comment on global iron ore shipments (Aug 14) 

SHANGHAI, Aug 15 (SMM) –

SMM statistics showed that the global iron ore shipments totaled 29.75 million mt last week, a drop of 3.8% week-on-week. The shipments from Australia dropped by 4.2% on a weekly basis to 17.25 million mt, of which 14.22 million mt or 82.4% went to China, up 15.5%. The shipments from Brazil added 1% on a weekly basis to 6.71 million mt, 2.55 million mt or 38% went to China, an increase by 4.5%. A total of 25.1263 million mt of iron ore arrived at Chinese ports last week, up 19.87% week-on-week.
