The European Parliament approved the reform of the EU carbon market.

The European Parliament approved the reform of the EU carbon market. The European Parliament has voted for an EU carbon border tax, imposing a CO2 cost on imported steel, cement, aluminium, fertilizer, electricity and hydrogen. The Parliament supports the EU to reduce carbon market emissions by 62% from 2005 levels by 2030. In addition, it also supports the end of free quotas for industrial carbon dioxide emissions by 2034.
