Silicon trades in south outperform north

Stocks declined 10,000 mt from May 31 to stand at 44,000 mt as of Jun 6

SHANGHAI, Jun 6 (SMM) – Spot trades of silicon metals in south China outperformed trades in the north this week, reflected by greater deliveries leaving and lower inventories at Huangpu port and stable inventories at Tianjin port.

Silicon metal stocks at Kunming also shrank this week, due to limited arrivals from a small number of producers that resumed in Yunnan province.

SMM data showed that social inventories of silicon metal across Huangpu port, Kunming city, and Tianjin port declined 10,000 mt from Friday May 31 to stand at 44,000 mt as of Thursday June 6.
