[SMM Brass Billet Flash] The fundamentals of tight raw material supply, high costs and weak end-use demand remain unchanged. SMM expects the brass billet industry's operating rate will continue to drop 0.25 percentage points MoM to 51.60%, with the industry's operating rate remaining under pressure in the near term.

May SMM China Copper Anode Enterprise Operating Rate Down 0.81 ppts MoM

[SMM Copper Anode Alert] In May 2026, the operating rate of China’s copper anode producers (SMM survey) was 47.37%, down 0.81 percentage points MoM. By raw material, the operating rate of ore-derived copper anode producers rose 0.57 percentage points MoM to 75.53%; that of scrap-derived copper anode producers fell 1.38 percentage points MoM to 35.86%.
