Table 1: Mainstream Market Arrivals Comparison

Data source: SMM Steel
Shanghai market: Shipments of hot-rolled coils to the Shanghai market narrowed slightly WoW this week. Specifically, shipments from northern and east China markets remained stable, with the decline mainly attributable to mainstream steel mills in south China, due to adjustments in the pace of product-mix shipments. In the short term, the Shanghai market has shown no notable price advantage recently, and steel mills lacked enthusiasm to increase shipments. Mainstream steel mill shipments are expected to remain at a medium-to-low level in the near term.
Lecong market: Shipments destined for Lecong declined notably WoW this week. Specifically, resources from north China edged up WoW, while local mainstream resources remained at relatively low levels. Looking ahead, local prices are relatively high, and some mainstream sources plan to increase shipments to Lecong. Arrivals in Lecong may increase somewhat WoW in the short term.
