[SMM PV News] TerraSpark Raises €5.4M to Advance Space-Based Solar Power

Luxembourg-based startup TerraSpark has raised €5.4 million in pre-seed funding to commercialize radio frequency-based wireless energy transmission for space-based solar power. Founded in 2025, its leadership includes former 'ESA' Solaris lead Sanjay Vijendran. The funds will support initial pilots, with an orbital technology demonstrator planned for 2027 and the first space-to-Earth power transmission targeted for 2028. Furthermore, TerraSpark will join the 'ARAQYS-D3' mission led by German firm Dcubed, slated to launch with SpaceX as early as February 2027. This mission aims to showcase a 'Power-as-a-Service' model, where TerraSpark will demonstrate in-space wireless power transmission by successfully illuminating 'LEDs' via a remote receiver.
