At present, the price of magnesium metal is hovering around 17,000 yuan/mt, and the long-standing pattern of being significantly lower than aluminum prices continues to be evident, making the cost-performance advantages and functional value of magnesium alloys increasingly prominent. Awareness of and attention to magnesium materials across the upstream and downstream of the industry chain have risen markedly, momentum for industrial upgrading is accelerating, and innovative application scenarios are continuously emerging. China's magnesium industry chain is ushering in the best period of development in its history. A broad consensus has already formed across the entire industry: to work together to expand application scenarios for magnesium metal, improve the industrial ecosystem, accelerate the large-scale application of magnesium materials, and jointly promote China's transition from a “major magnesium industry country” to a “strong magnesium industry country.”

Anhui province is a major emerging industrial province. Its automobile production and NEV production have both risen to first place nationwide, and parts enterprises have also been accelerating their clustering, making it a global largest magnesium alloy industry base. The Anhui provincial government attached great importance to and supported the development of the magnesium industry chain, and has already introduced Several Measures to Promote the High-Quality Development of the Magnesium-Based New Materials Industry and Implementation Plan for Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Magnesium-Based Materials Industry, striving to build Anhui province into a China-leading and globally advanced production base, application base, and innovation base for magnesium-based materials by 2027. Hefei has also formulated the Special Plan for the Development of Hefei's Magnesium-Based New Materials Industry to accelerate the cultivation of new advantages for the development of the magnesium-based new materials industry.

From March 30 to April 1, jointly hosted by Shanghai Magnesium Network and SMM Information & Technology Co., Ltd. (SMM), with special support from the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys and the Magnesium Alloys Branch of the Chinese Materials Research Society, co-organized by Baowu Magnesium Technology Co., Ltd., the People's Government of Chaohu City and the Administrative Committee of Anhui Chaohu Economic Development Zone, Ningbo Bonded Area Haitian Zhisheng Metal Forming Equipment Co., Ltd., and Wuchan Zhongda (Zhejiang) Industrial Investment Co., Ltd., and supported by the International Magnesium Association, the International Magnesium Society, the People's Government of Qingyang County, Anhui province, LK Group, Shanxi Regal Metal New Materials Co., Ltd., Shangli County Keyuan Metallurgical Materials Co., Ltd., Puyang Mingli Petrochemical machinery equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Shanxi Zhenxin Magnesium Co., Ltd., Shanxi Bada Magnesium Co., Ltd., Shanxi Yinguang Huasheng Magnesium Co., Ltd., Jiarui Technology Innovation (Huizhou) Co., Ltd., Xinjingtian Intelligent Equipment (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., Shanxi Fuhengdi New Materials Co., Ltd., Shanghai Ziyan Alloy Application Technology Co., Ltd., Henan Mingmei Magnesium Technology Co., Ltd., Wuchan Zhongda Qixin Alloy Materials Co., Ltd., Wenxi County Kailida Trading Co., Ltd., Anhui Shunfu Precision Technology Co., Ltd., Ningbo Kaiqi Magnesium Technology Co., Ltd., NIO, and Suzhou Boundless Miaokong Technology Co., Ltd. Titanium Dioxide Prices Rose Strongly, Titanium Ore Came Under Pressure and Pulled Back, with Cost Support and Inventory Dynamics Dominating the Market [SMM Titanium Spot Flash Report]
[SMM Titanium Spot Flash: Titanium Dioxide Prices Surged Strongly, Titanium Concentrate Came Under Pressure and Pulled Back, with Cost Support and Inventory Dynamics Dominating the Market] This week, prices in China’s titanium dioxide market continued to rise, with anatase and rutile grades raised by 400 yuan/mt and 150 yuan/mt, respectively. Multiple enterprises withheld sales after closing orders, and bullish sentiment remained strong in the market. Sulphuric acid prices continued to climb, with the SMM smelting acid index reaching 1,235.5 yuan/mt, providing strong cost support. Meanwhile, titanium concentrate prices dropped back slightly, as elevated inventory in the Panxi region, combined with titanium dioxide enterprises pushing for lower prices, led ore prices for 46% and 47% grades to be cut by 50 yuan/mt, respectively. Overall, titanium dioxide remained firm on cost support, while titanium concentrate was constrained by inventory and price-cut pressure, leaving the market in a diverging trend.
