Norway-based Morrow Batteries is approaching the start of commercial operations at its battery plant in Arendal, with production preparations completed and supply discussions currently underway with customers.
In August 2024, Morrow completed construction of Europe’s first lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery plant in Arendal and has since been preparing for production. The facility will initially operate with a capacity of 1 GWh, with plans to gradually expand to an annual production capacity of 42 GWh.
To enhance its competitiveness, Morrow will source 100% of the electricity required for battery production from renewable hydropower, underscoring its commitment to low-carbon manufacturing.
