Chery Unveils Rhino S All-Solid-State Battery, Revolutionizing EV Industry

Published: Oct 20, 2025 13:37
At the 2025 Global Innovation Conference, Chery announced a breakthrough in the entire industry chain for solid-state batteries, showcasing the Rhino S all-solid-state battery module. Its battery cell energy density reaches 600 Wh/kg, and when installed in a car model, the driving range can reach 1,200–1,300 km. It adopts an in-situ polymerization system solid-state electrolyte, eliminating the risk of spontaneous combustion at the source, maintains stable driving range even at -30°C, and supports 800V high-voltage fast charging. According to the plan, the battery is expected to begin small-scale validation in 2026 and enter large-scale mass production and vehicle installation in 2027. This move not only promotes Chery's transformation from a "battery user" to a "battery definer" but also intensifies industry competition with enterprises such as CATL and BYD, injecting new momentum into China's EV industry.
