CAIP announced plans to establish a wholly owned subsidiary in Zaragoza, Spain.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On August 2, Chinese automotive supplier Jiangsu Changshu Automotive Trim Group Co., Ltd. (CAIP) announced plans to establish a wholly owned subsidiary in Zaragoza, Spain, as part of its strategic and overseas expansion initiatives.

The new entity, tentatively named CAIP (Spain) Smart Cockpit Co., Ltd., will be set up through a multi-tiered investment structure. The investment will be made by CAIP (Luxembourg) Co., Ltd.—a wholly owned subsidiary of CAIP (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., which in turn is fully owned by the parent company CAIP. Upon completion, the Luxembourg-based entity will hold 100% equity in the Spanish subsidiary, with CAIP ultimately maintaining full ownership.

With a total investment of €24 million, funded entirely by the parent company's internal capitals, the new company will engage in the production, sales, and trade of automotive smart cockpits, components, molds and inspection tools, as well as automation equipment. The precise business scope will be subject to registration with local authorities.

CAIP stated that the investment aligns with its long-term strategic goals and is aimed at supporting the development of its international business, enhancing services for global clients, and expanding into new overseas markets—particularly in Europe. The new subsidiary will be fully consolidated into the parent company's financial statements and will not result in any related-party transactions or competitive conflicts.

However, the company noted that the investment is still subject to regulatory filings and approvals for outbound investments, and there is uncertainty regarding the approval timeline.
