【Hunan Recycling Enterprise Plans Expansion】Recently, the People's Government of Leiyang City, Hunan Province, announced the acceptance of the environmental impact report for the "Recycling and Comprehensive Utilisation of Lithium Battery Scrap and Lithium-Containing Waste and Battery-Grade Lithium Carbonate Industrialisation Project Expansion." This project, undertaken by Hunan Keyking Recycling Technology Co., Ltd., involves the recycling and comprehensive utilisation of lithium battery scrap and lithium-containing waste, as well as the industrialisation and expansion of battery-grade lithium carbonate production. The expansion project involves an investment of 200 million yuan, primarily addressing changes in raw material and product processing capacities. The processing capacity changes include increasing the treatment of ternary battery scrap, off-cuts, and battery powder from 25,000 mt/year to 45,000 mt/year; expanding the deep processing of lithium chemicals and lithium-containing waste (crude lithium phosphate, crude lithium fluoride, crude lithium carbonate, crude lithium chloride, crude lithium sulphate, crude lithium hydroxide, crude lithium aluminate, lithium waste glass, etc.) from 7,183 mt/year to 27,073 mt/year; reducing the treatment of LFP batteries, off-cuts, and battery powder from 150,000 mt/year to 50,000 mt/year; and maintaining the treatment capacity for lithium metal batteries at 10,000 mt/year.

【Guangdong 50,000 mt Lithium Battery Recycling Project】The project involves a total investment of 1.195 billion yuan, with the first phase (an annual processing capacity of 50,000 mt of recycled lithium-ion batteries) being constructed by its subsidiary Guangdong Hengfuneng Recycling Technology Co., Ltd., with an investment of 310 million yuan. The plan includes building two production lines for resource-based processing and crushing of waste lithium-ion batteries and two production lines for resource-based processing, crushing, and screening of waste lithium-ion battery pole pieces. The project is expected to recycle and process 50,000 mt of waste lithium-ion batteries annually, including 15,000 mt of cascade utilisation of retired lithium-ion batteries, 25,000 mt of dismantling and classified utilisation of waste lithium-ion batteries, and 10,000 mt of waste lithium-ion battery pole pieces.

【100,000 mt Lithium Battery Recycling Project in Hunan】It is reported that the 100,000 mt/year comprehensive utilisation project for lithium-containing industrial waste is being constructed by Loudi Jinhong New Materials Co., Ltd. The project involves a total investment of 300 million yuan, including an environmental protection investment of 8.05 million yuan, and primarily focuses on building a purification production line with an annual processing capacity of 100,000 mt of lithium-containing industrial waste.

【200,000 mt Lithium Battery Comprehensive Project Trial Production】The first phase of the NEV retired power battery comprehensive utilisation project, invested and constructed by Guangdong Jiecheng New Energy Materials Technology Co., Ltd., is undergoing trial production. Construction of the project began in October 2022, with the first phase involving an investment of 1 billion yuan and a designed capacity to process 200,000 mt of retired NEV power batteries annually. The first phase of the project was completed and began trial production in October 2024.

【10,000 mt Lithium Battery Recycling Project Pre-Approval Announcement】Recently, the Economic Cooperation and Commerce Bureau of Yucheng District, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, announced the pre-approval of the environmental impact assessment for the "Renewable Energy Storage and Waste Power Battery Recycling and Comprehensive Processing Project in Ya'an City, Sichuan Province."
