[SMM Daily Review: Lithium Carbonate Spot Prices Rose on January 10]
The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index price was 75,594 yuan/mt, up 116 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Battery-grade lithium carbonate was quoted at 74,800-76,600 yuan/mt, with an average price of 75,700 yuan/mt, up 200 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate was quoted at 71,950-72,950 yuan/mt, with an average price of 72,450 yuan/mt, up 150 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Based on the current market transactions, pre-holiday restocking is nearing completion, and transaction activity has slightly weakened. Upstream lithium chemical plants maintained a firm stance on discounts for 2025 long-term contracts and spot cargoes, while traders have recently raised their quotes. As a result, lithium carbonate spot prices increased today. Considering the tight supply-demand balance for lithium carbonate in January and the market's circulating inventory levels, it is expected that lithium carbonate spot prices will exhibit sideways movement.
