SMM, December 22: On December 18, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the "Management Measures for the Recycling and Comprehensive Utilisation of Lithium-Ion Batteries for Electric Bicycles (Draft for Comments)" to solicit public opinions. Previously, three departments jointly issued the "Guidelines for Health Assessment of Lithium-Ion Batteries for Electric Bicycles," which also mentioned promoting the health assessment and recycling of lithium-ion batteries for electric bicycles. Used lithium-ion batteries from electric bicycles may potentially serve as new raw materials, further driving the development of the lithium battery recycling industry.
