【Successful Ignition of Wire Heating Furnace for Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Upgrade Project of Xinsteel Electric Arc Furnace】

At 12:58 on August 9, the ignition of the wire heating furnace for the energy conservation and environmental protection upgrade project of Xinsteel Electric Arc Furnace was successfully completed, marking the official entry into the hot test phase. The bar heating furnace of this project was ignited on June 28, and steel was successfully produced on July 29. So far, both heating furnaces of the project have entered a new stage of production. Aiming to build "green, low-carbon, intelligent, and high-efficiency" energy-saving and high-efficiency heating furnaces, the thermal engineering team of Metallurgical Corporation of China South Research Institute (MCCS) has adopted a dual control mode of "ratio + pulse" for the combustion systems of the two furnaces, enabling online switching to meet the heating quality requirements of different steel grades. By applying technologies and equipment such as cascade waste heat utilization and the self-developed and designed MILD flameless burner, full utilization of thermal energy and significant reduction of NOx emissions have been achieved.
