Today, iron ore futures saw a relatively strong and volatile performance, with the main contract closing at 776.5, marking a 1.97% increase for the day. The overall trading atmosphere in the market was subdued today. Trading prices remained largely flat compared to Friday's levels; SMM data revealed that global iron ore shipments totaled 32.77 million tonnes, a week-on-week increase of 8.3%. Among them, shipments from Australia and non-mainstream mines increased, while those from Brazil declined. SMM's report indicated that the total arrivals of iron ore in China amounted to 19.6 million tonnes, a sharp week-on-week decrease of 28.6%. On the demand side, due to severe losses faced by steel mills, blast furnace maintenance has increased, and it is expected that iron water output will decline significantly this week. However, as the market releases pessimistic sentiment, the overall sentiment has improved. Additionally, the anticipated improvement in monetary policy may have a certain impact on the market, but upward momentum for ore prices is expected to be insufficient in the short term...
