This marks Tesla's first energy storage superfactory project outside the United States, covering a total area of approximately 200,000 square meters with a total investment of around 1.45 billion yuan. According to Tesla's official announcement, construction of the Shanghai Energy Storage Superfactory is scheduled to commence in May 2024, with mass production planned for the first quarter of 2025, focusing on producing Megapack, a type of large-scale commercial energy storage battery. Additionally, according to data released by Tesla in early April, the company deployed 4,053 megawatt-hours of energy storage products in the first quarter, marking the highest quarterly deployment volume to date.
