Some smelters are cautious in shipments amid limited available secondary lead

SHANGHAI, May 10 (SMM) - Today, the average price of SMM1# lead fell 50 yuan/ton to 17500 yuan/ton. The mainstream discount was 250-200 yuan/ton against the average price of SMM1# lead,ex-factory; some cargoes in remote regions were quoted with discounts of 300 yuan/ton. The ex-factory prices excluding tax were 16350-16500 yuan/ton.

Lead prices fell slightly during the morning trading today. Battery scrap traders in the market were worried that scrap prices would fall, so their enthusiasm for shipments increased. Some secondary lead smelters were cautious about selling due to limited cargoes.
