TEIKOKU ION, a Japanese company engaged in electroplating processing, has developed an ultra-thin copper foil with a thickness of 4 micrometers (μm). By electroplating copper on both sides of a resin film, the strength was increased, and the thickness was reduced to half of the original. It is envisioned that when used as an electrode material for lithium-ion batteries, it can extend the driving range of pure electric vehicles (EVs).
