Steel shipments by ports outside China were 2.246 million mt in the week ending April 5, up 15% from a week ago. Shipments by Chinese ports for exports were 2.0939 million mt, an increase of 10% on a weekly basis.

In terms of varieties,

Global port shipments of steel plate were 90,000 mt in the week ending April 5, a drop of 4% WoW. Global port shipments of steel coil were 250,600 mt, a drop of 51%. Global port shipments of pig iron were 926,300 mt, up 27%. Global port shipments of steel billets were 659,900 mt, up 67%.

Arrivals at China's 119 ports under foreign trade were 456,100 mt, an increase of 111,400 mt or 32% from a week earlier.
