Beijing (Gasgoo)- On March 5, according to the "Beijing Chaoyang" WeChat public account, Beijing Yi’anqi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (name in translation), a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and BMW, has settled in Beijing Chaoyang District and will operate a supercharging network in the Chinese market.
On November 30, 2023, BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. and Mercedes-Benz Group China Ltd. announced the signing of a cooperation agreement to establish a 50:50 joint venture in China, which will operate a high-power charging network and provide Chinese customers with premium charging services.
The joint venture leverages the charging operation experience of both parties in the global and Chinese markets to provide exclusive services to customers of Mercedes-Benz Group and BMW Group, including seamless digital charging experiences such as plug-and-charge and online reservations. Additionally, the company's charging network will be open to the public, aiming to create a more reliable and convenient charging experience in terms of convenience, speed, and quality.
By the end of 2026, the joint venture plans to build at least 1,000 advanced supercharging stations in China, with approximately 7,000 supercharging piles. The first batch of charging stations is scheduled to operate in top cities of new energy vehicles in China in 2024, with subsequent construction covering other cities and regions nationwide.
