Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 16, 2024, Huawei Smart Cockpit and Baidu’s navigation platform, Baidu Map, inked an ecosystem cooperation agreement, focusing on enhancing the navigation and travel experience within Huawei's smart cockpit.
This collaboration entails the joint development of the in-car version of the Baidu Map application, seamlessly extending the rich features of the mobile app to the vehicle. Core functionalities include lane-level navigation, traffic light countdown, real-time parking lot navigation, personalized voice packs, and more. Together, they will create an all-scenario in-car map with features like voice interaction, mobile phone-to-vehicle connectivity, dashboard/HUD navigation, and split-screen/floating navigation. The integrated map service will gradually be incorporated into vehicle models equipped with Huawei’s smart cockpit.
Up to now, Baidu Map's traffic light countdown function has been available in 3,000 counties across China, ensuring safety and improving traffic efficiency. Real-time parking navigation spans millions of parking lots nationwide, displaying queue times and recommending optimal parking spaces. Leveraging large model technology, Baidu Map transforms into the world's first AI-native map with lane-level navigation, allowing its lane-level navigation function to recommend the optimal lane to users throughout the journey. By 2024, the function aims to achieve nationwide coverage.
Aligned in their vision for future navigation trends, Baidu Map and Huawei Smart Cockpit are committed to creating an ever-evolving in-car map navigation experience. The partnership promises continuous innovation and personalized map navigation services for Huawei Smart Cockpit users, synchronized with the iterative development of the mobile Baidu Map app.
