Operating Rates Of Licensed Secondary Lead Smelters Fell Last Week

The operating rates of licensed secondary lead smelters across Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Inner Mongolia averaged 44.94% last week, down 0.2 percentage point from the prior week. A large smelter in Anhui reduced production due to equipment maintenance two weeks ago, and its production returned to normal levels last week, raising the operating rates in Anhui.

The production situation of sample companies in Jiangsu did not changed significantly. The output of secondary lead smelters in Henan remained flat last week. High battery scrap prices depressed purchases. Some smelters in Inner Mongolia stopped production for maintenance, and the local operating rates dropped by about 27 percentage points. The market shall pay attention to the production resumption of a large-scale smelter in Hebei this week.
