SHANGHAI, Jul 6 (SMM) – According to SMM statistics, the smelting volume of copper scrap and copper ingots in June reached approximately 147,000 mt, marking an increase of 2,000 mt month-on-month. The primary reason for the increase in the smelting volume of copper scrap and copper ingots was the fluctuation in copper prices in June, which initially rose and then declined. The price difference between copper cathodes and copper scrap consistently remained in a favorable range, thus encouraging the consumption of copper scrap as raw materials. However, it is worth noting that due to the impact of "Financial Document No. 40" and its tax collection news, some copper anode factories in the Jiangxi region have started to operate cautiously, resulting in a certain degree of restraint on copper scrap smelting volume.
