SHANGHAI, Apr 25 (SMM) – Coking coal market: Coking coal inventory accumulated significantly amid poor shipments, putting prices at downside risks.
Coke market: Coke output remains high as lower coal prices improve coking plants’ profitability. To tackle poor end demand and falling steel prices, some steel mills have announced maintenance plans and are prudent in purchasing coke. With more blast furnaces under maintenance, coke inventory will continue to accumulate, which will leave coke prices vulnerable to decline.
