The research results of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) show that great progress has been made in the energy transformation, especially in the power sector, where the installed capacity of renewable energy already accounts for 40% of the world's installed capacity. However, to achieve a temperature control of 1.5 degrees Celsius, the current scale and degree of change are far from enough.
A RENA report released on Tuesday said an additional $35 trillion would be needed to invest in energy transition technologies by 2030 to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
At the same time, the IRENA report said that the success of the global energy transition must reflect the urgency and transformative nature of the climate crisis, and investment and comprehensive policies across all sectors must develop renewable energy.
