Spot Zinc Trading in Guangdong Picks up on Feb 23

SHANGHAI, Feb 23 (SMM)- Mainstream traded price of #0 zinc in Guangdong was 23,380-23,470 yuan/mt. Spot discounts for mainstream brands stood at about 75-50 yuan/mt over the 2305 contract, with discounts of around 40 yuan/mt over Shanghai prices. Zinc prices fluctuated today, and market purchases increased slightly. Holders offered discounts of about 10-5 yuan/mt to some brands, or discounts of about 50 yuan/mt over the 2304 contract. The transactions were acceptable. In the second trading session, the market saw almost no low-priced spot zinc ingots.  Quotations of some brands offered by the holders even slumped to discounts of around 65-50 yuan/mt. Spot zinc trading picked up today, and the transactions improved.
