SHANGHAI, Dec 15 (SMM) - The domestic lithium hexafluorophosphate output stood at 12,063 mt in December, down 1% MoM. In terms of demand, due to the decline in subsidies, the terminal consumption weakened. In addition, the battery factory intended to digest the inventory near the end of the year. As such, the demand for lithium hexafluorophosphate was weak. On the supply side, mainstream manufacturers mainly delivered in the form of long-term orders. The capacity of new projects of some manufacturers in the early stage was released. However, amid the weak downstream demand and the decline in the costs, the downstream enterprises were wait-and-see and the spot transactions in the market were thin. Some lithium hexafluorophosphate manufacturers slightly reduced their production to adjust their inventories.
In December, due to the weak downstream demand, the operating rates of lithium hexafluorophosphate decline further. It is estimated that China's lithium hexafluorophosphate output will be 11,358 mt in December, a decrease of 6% month-on-month.
