SHANGHAI, Sep 26 (SMM) - SMM statistics showed that China’s steel port shipments by domestic trade totalled 5.69 million mt in the week of September 17-23, up 30% week-on-week. Among them, the combined shipments across six major ports in the north (Jingtang Port, Caofeidian Port, Bayuquan Port, Tianjin Xingang Port, Huanghua Port, Jinzhou Port) were 1.94 million mt, a decrease of 10,000 mt and accounting for 34% of the total shipments. The combined shipments across three major ports in east China (Shanghai Port, Zhangjiagang Port and Lanbei Port) were 540,000 mt, an increase of 210,000 mt and accounting for 9% of the total shipments. The combined shipments across two major ports in south China (Zhanjianggang Port and Fangchenggang Port) were 360,000 mt, a drop of 170,000 mt and accounting for 6% of the total shipments.
Steel arrivals across Chinese ports by domestic trade were 5.78 million mt last week, up 837,100 mt on a weekly basis. Among them, arrivals across the 13 major ports in east China were 3.33 million mt, up 1.04 million mt and accounting for 58% of the total arrivals. Arrivals at Guangzhou Port in south China were 320,100 mt, a decrease of 68,200 mt and accounting for 6% of the total arrivals.

Global port shipments of steel coil were 272,800 mt last week, a drop of 33% week-on-week. Global port shipments of pig iron were 586,800 mt last week, up 2% week-on-week. Global port shipments of steel billets were 171,700 mt last week, down 6% week-on-week.
