In the first quarter, the utilization rate of industrial capacity across the country was 75.8 percent, down 1.4 percentage points from the same period last year and basically the same as in the first quarter of 2019.
Divided into three major categories, in the first quarter, the capacity utilization rate of the mining industry was 77.0%, up 1.7% over the same period last year; the manufacturing capacity utilization rate was 75.9%, down 1.7%; and the capacity utilization rate of electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply industries was 73.8%, down 0.7 percentage points.
In terms of major industries, in the first quarter, the capacity utilization rate of coal mining and washing industry was 74.9%, food manufacturing industry was 71.6%, textile industry was 78.2%, chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry was 77.9%, non-metallic mineral products industry was 65.8%, ferrous metal smelting and Calendering industry was 77.0%, non-ferrous metal smelting and Calendering industry was 79.0%, general equipment manufacturing industry was 79.2%. It is 77.8% in special equipment manufacturing industry, 72.1% in automobile manufacturing industry, 77.3% in electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry, and 77.0% in computer, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry.
