Recently, the list of winners of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award was announced. Chongqing Boao magnesium Aluminum Metal Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Yunhai Metals Group, won the first prize of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award with the project of "Design, Development and Application of High strength and toughness cast Aluminum / magnesium Alloy for vehicle".

It is reported that the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award, jointly organized and judged by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and the China Nonferrous Metals Association, is one of the most important and highest-level scientific and technological awards in the non-ferrous metals industry. Since its establishment in 2001, the award has been held for 21 consecutive sessions, establishing good industry credibility and social influence. Focus on rewarding major technological innovations in scientific and technological development, technology popularization, achievement transformation and industrial application in the non-ferrous metals industry, with advanced technical indicators, mature and reliable technology, and remarkable economic and social benefits. innovative achievements of great significance in promoting the scientific and technological progress of the industry and improving market competitiveness.

The China Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award is evaluated once a year, which is divided into the first prize, the second prize and the third prize, with no more than 100 awards each year.

Chongqing Boao magnesium-Aluminum Metal Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was founded in 2006 and the Technology Center was established in 2007. It is a high-tech enterprise specializing in developing, developing, producing and selling magnesium alloy and aluminum alloy die-casting products. In 2016, it established a strategic cooperative relationship with the National magnesium Center of Chongqing University and the Chongqing Institute of Science and Technology, and won the municipal enterprise technology center in 2017. The company editor-in-chief standard GB26488-2011 "magnesium alloy die casting safety production specification", participated in the compilation of "magnesium alloy processing products packaging, marking, transportation, storage", "magnesium alloy car seat frame blank", "passenger car magnesium alloy front frame technical conditions", indicating that the company's technology and management norms are in the leading position in the industry, with demonstration and driving role.

After the wholly-owned acquisition of Boao magnesium aluminum by Yunhai Metal Group in 2019, a magnesium alloy melting project was planned for Boao magnesium aluminum, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the innovation and development of Boao magnesium aluminum. Boao magnesium aluminum is the largest magnesium-aluminum alloy die-casting enterprise with the largest scale and the most perfect industrial chain in the western region of China. Its main products include seat frame assembly, dashboard beam bracket (CCB), central control frame, shock absorber tower, steering wheel frame and so on. The product quality is in the leading level in China and has been well received by foreign customers.

In the research and development of magnesium alloy auto parts, Boao magnesium aluminum already has the design ability of automobile interior structural components, and adopts the structural design concept of integrated die casting to make the products highly integrated, easy to assemble and stable in quality. it can reduce the weight of structural parts by about 30%, 50%, and meet the lightweight goals of customers at home and abroad. At present, Boao magnesium aluminum has the R & D and production capacity synchronized with the international leading level, and its magnesium product deep processing R & D level has reached the world advanced level.

The rapid development of new energy vehicles will further improve the application of magnesium and aluminum alloy.
