At the press conference of the State Information Office held on February 28, Xin Guobin, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that this year will focus on meeting the production needs of power batteries, and appropriately speed up the development of domestic lithium, nickel and other resources. we will crack down on unfair competition such as hoarding and driving up prices. At the same time, improve the power battery recycling system, support efficient disassembly, recycling and other technologies, and constantly improve the recovery ratio and resource utilization efficiency.

With regard to new energy vehicles, he said that it is necessary to step up the study of supporting policies such as the extension of tax concessions for new energy vehicles, optimize the "double points" management method, effectively link up with the subsidy decline, and stabilize market expectations. We will organize and compile a road map for the green development of the automobile industry to provide guidance and help for enterprises in the industry.

According to the "Operation of Lithium Ion Battery Industry in 2021" released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on February 24, the national output of lithium-ion batteries in 2021 was 324GWH, an increase of 106% over the same period last year, of which the output of consumer, power and energy storage lithium batteries was 72GWh, 220GWh and 32GWH respectively, up 18%, 165% and 146% respectively over the same period last year. The output of the four key materials of lithium electricity has increased rapidly, and according to the estimation of the research institution, the growth rate of cathode materials, diaphragms and electrolytes is close to 100%. The total output value of lithium electricity industry has exceeded 600 billion yuan.

In January 2022, China's new energy vehicles also maintained rapid growth. In January, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 452000 and 431000 respectively, an increase of 1.3 times and 1.4 times respectively over the same period last year, and the market penetration rate reached 17.0%.
