SHANGHAI, Nov 30 (SMM) – GEM stated that the main key equipment of the company's nickel resource project will be officially shipped to Indonesia and completed in mid-May 2021.

The Indonesian nickel resource project has shifted from the infrastructure construction stage to equipment installation.

The Indonesian nickel resource project is planned to be completed in 2021 and put into operation in early 2022 to meet the company's strategic need for nickel resources in the development of precursor materials.

[SMM Nickel Flash] According to SMM, Indonesia's nickel ore mining quotas were significantly tightened in 2026, exacerbating the shortage of nickel ore supply. As a result, some high-grade NPI production lines in Indonesia have entered maintenance and production cuts since March-April due to ore undersupply and high costs.
