SHANGHAI, Aug 27 (SMM) – Three ferrochrome enterprises in Ebian Yi Autonomous County of Sichuan carried out staggering peak production amid environmental protection inspections by central Ecological Environmental Protection Supervision team.
The off-peak production is implemented during 14:00-19:00 from August 25 to August 31, 2021. The three ferrochrome companies include Mingda Alloy, Mingda Industrial and Yunxing Electric Metallurgy.
The fourth batch of the second round of inspection was implemented according to Environmental Protection Inspection Work Regulations approved by the Party Central Committee and the State Council. Seven central ecological and environmental protection inspection teams have been established, which will implement a month-long inspections across Jilin, Shandong, Hubei, Guangdong and Sichuan, as well as China Nonferrous Mining Group and China Gold.
SMM understood that this production restrictions will affect only around 100 mt of high-carbon ferrochrome output. Other ferrochrome plants in Guangxi have not received notice of production restrictions yet. High-carbon ferrochrome output in Sichuan is expected to grow due to abundant rainfall and increased hydro-power generation volume.
