SMM Network News: after BYD Han, Tesla Model 3 and Hongguang MINI EV have announced the use of lithium iron phosphate batteries, lithium iron phosphate has ushered in a highlight moment this year, and the installed capacity data has been rising for many months in a row. In the case of substantial growth in the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries, it is also widely rumored in the industry that lithium iron phosphate materials have hit bottom and rebounded, and some material companies have begun to raise prices tentatively.

A few days ago, BYD released new energy vehicle sales figures for October, in which BYD Han EV sold 5055 vehicles in October. Based on the average carrying capacity of about 76.9kWh per car (which varies with different battery life), this model contributed about 388.73MWh to the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate battery in October.

Another popular model, the Hongguang MINI EV, sold 23762 vehicles in October. Although this model is not only equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries, but also some of them are equipped with multi-component composite lithium batteries, but such high sales are expected to drive the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries.

There is another best-selling model, the Tesla Model 3. Starting from October, the standard continuous version of Model 3 produced by Tesla (Shanghai) factory will be equipped with Ningde era lithium iron phosphate battery, so the production and sales of this model is also very significant to the promotion of lithium iron phosphate battery. Data show that Tesla (Shanghai) sold 12143 Model 3 vehicles in October, while the factory produced 22929 Model 3 vehicles in the same period. Of course, this figure also includes long-range Model 3, while the long-range version of Model 3 carries ternary batteries, and since the latest power battery installation data has not yet been released, it is not possible to accurately know the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries driven by it, but it is expected to be relatively high.

Although in the field of passenger cars, the above models do play an important role in promoting the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries, but only these models are still difficult to help lithium iron phosphate batteries to achieve counterattack. Statistics of passenger car risk data in recent months can be seen that another important policy factor is also an important driving force that indirectly promotes the rapid recovery of lithium iron phosphate battery installation data. Yes, it is "new energy vehicles going to the countryside".

It is understood that the insurance data of new energy passenger vehicles show that the insurance data of the top 10 models equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries in October is 23596, and the corresponding installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate is about 738.92MWh.

The top 10 supporting models of lithium iron phosphate are BYD Han, Hongguang MINI EV, Chery EQ1, Baojun E200, Baojun E100, BAIC EC series, Baojun E300, Nezhu N01, Dongfeng well-off C36 and Wuling Glory.

It is worth noting that although Hongguang MINI EV10 has the highest risk in lithium iron phosphate battery models in the month, the overall installed capacity driven by Hongguang MINI EV is only 111.11MWH, while that of BYD Han bicycles is about 76.9kWh.In October, the corresponding installed capacity of Shanghai Insurance data is about 303.66MWH, ranking first in a single model, while Hongguang Hankan ranks second in terms of dangerous matching capacity.

Because the Shanghai insurance data actually lag behind the output data to a certain extent, and Tesla (Shanghai) Model 3 produced less in September, so its Model 3 equipped with lithium iron phosphate battery did not enter the TOP10 ranking in October, and is expected to have a more eye-catching performance in November data.

It is worth noting that in October, with the exception of BYD Han, the other 9 models are "new energy vehicles going to the countryside" to participate in the dangerous volume of TOP10 in October. It can be seen that under the influence of the activity of "New Energy vehicles going to the Countryside", the sales of supporting lithium iron phosphate battery models have increased rapidly, which in turn led to the rapid growth of lithium iron phosphate in the passenger car market.

On July 15, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and villages and the Ministry of Commerce jointly issued the Circular on the activities of New Energy vehicles to the Countryside, and then a number of car companies participated in more than 50 models.

"the ex-factory price of new energy vehicles participating in this trip to the countryside is less than 100000 yuan," according to people familiar with the matter, but the low price is not equal to the low end. These new energy vehicles are completely different from low-speed electric vehicles. It is a brand model that comes from regular automobile production enterprises and can be licensed.

In fact, in the activity of "new energy vehicles going to the countryside", lithium iron phosphate battery models have obvious competitive advantages in cost, so many car companies mainly take lithium iron phosphate models with high performance and price as the main participating models. At the same time, car companies also give some concessions, and local governments provide policy support, which has led to a continuous increase in sales of lithium iron phosphate battery passenger cars in recent months.

Of course, BYD Han did not participate in the "New Energy vehicles to the Countryside" activity, but with the excellent performance of its vehicles and middle-and high-end positioning, it won the crown of lithium iron phosphate battery passenger cars in October, which indirectly shows that lithium iron phosphate batteries are still very competitive in the passenger car market. With the Ningde era supporting Model 3 models have been launched, the performance of these two models in the back is also expected to be very exciting.

In terms of supporting battery enterprises, due to the hot sales of BYD Han, Fudi battery also won the first place in the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries in passenger cars in October.

Considering that BYD has replaced many of its models with lithium iron phosphate blade batteries, as well as the continued hot sales of BYD Han, it is expected that Fudi batteries will lead the insurance and installation data of lithium iron phosphate batteries in passenger cars in the coming period of time.

It is also expected that Hongguang MINI EV and Tesla Model 3 will continue to sell well, but Hongguang MINI EV battery suppliers are numerous. In addition to Guoxuan Hi-Tech and Xingheng Power supply, Ningde Times and Penghui Energy have also joined, and it is rumored that other battery manufacturers are also carrying out product verification. How much you can contribute to each enterprise in the future depends on how much cake each enterprise can share.

It is worth noting that thanks to the continuous innovation of several leading enterprises in lithium iron phosphate materials, processes and PACK, the performance of lithium iron phosphate is steadily improving, and its cost, life and safety advantages are also more significant.
