SMM: recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology sorted out the operation of the battery industry from January to September 2020 according to the data of the China Light Industry Information Center. Data show that from January to September 2020, among the main products of the national battery manufacturing industry, the output of lithium-ion batteries was 12.57 billion, an increase of 7.8 percent over the same period last year; the output of lead-acid batteries was 161.092 million kilovolts, an increase of 12.9 percent over the same period last year; and the output of primary batteries and primary battery packs (non-buckle type) was 29.32 billion, down 1.2 percent from the same period last year.
In September, the national output of lithium-ion batteries was 1.99 billion, an increase of 26.6 percent over the same period last year; the output of lead-acid batteries was 22.602 million kilovolt amperes, an increase of 25.2 percent over the same period last year; and the output of primary batteries and primary battery packs (non-buckle type) was 3.86 billion, an increase of 7.8 percent over the same period last year.
In addition, in terms of benefits, from January to September 2020, the operating income of battery manufacturing enterprises above the national scale was 532.59 billion yuan, down 4.8 percent from the same period last year, and the total profit was 26.74 billion yuan, an increase of 8.3 percent over the same period last year.
