[Ministry of Finance: specific measures for adjusting policies related to subsidies for the purchase of New Energy vehicles will be issued] the State Council's joint prevention and control mechanism held a press conference on 9 April to introduce the work of stabilizing the impact of the epidemic and expanding automobile consumption. Sun Guangqi, director of the Department of Economic Construction of the Ministry of Finance, pointed out that the Ministry of Finance, in conjunction with relevant departments, will step up the introduction of specific measures to adjust policies related to subsidies for the purchase of new energy vehicles in accordance with the procedures, stabilize market expectations, and create good conditions for the release of automobile consumption demand. At the meeting, Sun Guangqi also said that by the end of 2019, the number of charging piles in China had reached more than 1.2 million, but the number of new energy vehicles was 3.8 million. Next, we will optimize the reward and subsidy policy for charging facilities, mobilize local enthusiasm, speed up the construction process, and change the situation of more cars and fewer piles as soon as possible.

Cumulative car sales from January to March were 83383, down 35.53 per cent from a year earlier, of which pure electric passenger car sales were 4926, down 67.18 per cent from a year earlier.

[Samsung SDI plans to increase the proportion of cathode materials to 50 per cent by 2030] according to foreign media reports, Samsung SDI plans to reduce costs and self-sufficiency by producing its own cathode materials and reduce its dependence on external material procurement. Samsung SDI mainly buys cathode materials from South Korean suppliers LIFF and Yumeike, and the company currently supplies 20% of its cathode materials. Samsung SDI plans to increase its cathode material self-sufficiency to 50% by 2030, and to that end, the company has appointed the head of its ESS business team to lead its cathode manufacturing division, STM. At the same time, Samsung SDI will form a joint venture with South Korean cathode material supplier ECOPRO BM to produce the next generation of cathode materials.

[new energy and intelligent vehicle industry in Sichuan Province] A total of 120000 new energy vehicles will be promoted in Sichuan Province. Recently, Sichuan Province issued the "work points of New Energy and Intelligent vehicle Industry in 2020" (hereinafter referred to as "work points"). Speed up the development of new energy and intelligent vehicle industry. The "main points of work" are clear: in 2020, the focus will be on speeding up the upgrading and transformation of leading backbone enterprises, promoting the high-quality development of new energy and intelligent vehicle industries in Sichuan Province, and building new energy vehicles with national influence, especially hydrogen fuel cell vehicle products. We will promote the China-Germany cooperation intelligent network automobile and vehicle networking project to achieve phased results, build a closed test yard, and strive to achieve the production of 35000 new energy vehicles in the province. It increased by 10% over the same period last year, and the total number of new energy vehicles popularized and applied reached 120000.
