1. Orders for hand-held ships fell 8.2% at the end of September compared with the same period last year.

From January to September, 29.36 million deadweight tons were completed nationwide, an increase of 6.7 percent over the same period last year. From January to September, 27.51 million deadweight tons were completed for export ships, up 9 percent from the same period last year; 18.42 million deadweight tons were accepted for export ships, down 22.3 percent from the same period last year; and 72.98 million deadweight tons were ordered for hand-held export ships at the end of September, down 5 percent from the same period last year. Export ships accounted for 93.7%, 94.6% and 91.9% of the national shipbuilding completion, new orders and handheld orders, respectively.
