Customs data show that in September 2019, China's rare earth exports totaled 3570.9 tons, down 17.96 percent from the previous month, while the total from January to September was 36398 tons, down 9 percent from the same period in 2018. Exports of rare earths in September 2019 totaled 210 million yuan, down 12.5 percent from the previous month, while cumulative exports from January to September totaled 2.39 billion yuan, down 5.3 percent from the same period in 2018. From January to September 2019, China's rare earth exports are generally in a downward trend, mainly affected by the escalation of Sino-US trade war and the sharp rise in the prices of domestic mainstream rare earth products.
In the recent spot market, good news came from Sino-US trade after 11 knots, coupled with the fact that the market is in a wait-and-see state for the follow-up progress of the Burmese pass, but the merchants have a strong wait-and-see mentality, and the market transaction generally remains weak. The prices of mainstream rare earth products such as praseodymium and neodymium oxide, dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide have dropped significantly. On October 15, 2019, praseodymium and neodymium oxide quoted for 31.2-317000 yuan / ton. Dysprosium oxide 175-1.78 million yuan / ton, terbium oxide 377-3.8 million yuan / ton.
