SHANGHAI, Jun. 22 (SMM) – Global primary aluminum shortage eased notably during the first four months of 2017 compared with last year, according to latest data from World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS).
During January-April, primary aluminum output worldwide increased 1.3 million tonnes year-on-year, while primary aluminum demand rose 1.58 million tonnes to 20.35 million tonnes. This created a deficit of 683,000 tonnes, versus 1.1 million tonnes in the whole of 2016, WBMS data showed.
