SHANGHAI, Feb. 17 (SMM) – China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection will launch a new round of environmental protection inspections across 18 cities from February 15 to March 15. The inspections will cover Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei (including Shijiazhuang, Langfang, Baoding, Tangshan, Handan, Xingtai, Cangzhou, Heshui), Shanxi (including Taiyuan, Linfen), Shandong (Jinan, Dezhou), and Henan (including Zhengzhou, Hebi, Jiaozuo, and Anyang).
SMM Survey: What’s Impact on China Base Metals Market from New Environmental Drive?
Will domestic nickel and tin producers be affected by the new round of inspections?
The two markets are not expected to be influenced by the latest checks, SMM survey finds.
In the regions on the inspection list, there are only several stainless steel mills, and those mills are mainly SOEs, all equipped with environment-friendly facilities. In the tin market, there are no tin smelters or tin processing enterprises in the inspected regions.
