Rising costs and market speculation triggered by new transport regulations will continue offer upward momentum to alumina prices, SMM explained.
Chalco Hikes Aluminum Prices in Major Markets on September 29
SMM data showed alumina costs increased 100 yuan/tonne in recent two months due to rising prices for bauxite, liquid caustic soda, lime and coal.
China lowered vehicle loading capacity ceiling from 55 tonnes to 49 tonnes for 6-axle trucks, effective September 21, resulting in over 30% rise in vehicle transport costs.
