SHANGHAI, Sept. 24 (SMM) -- The US Federal Reserve Board decided to maintain interest rates unchanged, boosting the US dollar to rebound from low levels, and crude oil prices dropped significantly, and copper prices fell as a result. LME three-month contract copper prices closed at USD 6,175/mt, down USD 115/mt. LME copper inventories increased by 175mt, bringing total inventories to 331,950mt. The lukewarm sentiment of pre-holiday stock replenishment resulted in lackluster trading activities in spot market. SHFE copper prices are expected to remain weak today.
