SHANGHAI, July 6 (CBI China) -- Last week, SHFE copper inventories increased by 3,892mt, bringing total inventories to 59,980mt. LME copper inventories increased by 4,050mt, bringing total inventories to 268,275mt. Increases in both SHFE and LME copper inventories exerted downward pressure on copper price. LME three-month contract copper price closed at USD 4,960/mt, down USD 80/mt. Copper demand has fallen since the approach of seasonal low demand period, generating market concerns copper price will fall during 3Q. CBI believes copper price will likely fall this week, but with limited downward room.
