SHANGHAI, July 1 (CBI China) -- The Conference Board announced the US consumer confidence index during June fell to 49.3, lower than the estimated level of 55.0. The negative data dragged down the crude oil, gold and other commodity markets, and LME copper price edged down as well. LME three-month contract copper price closed at USD 4,985/mt, down USD 120/mt. LME copper inventories declined by 1,350mt, bringing total inventories to 265,950mt. Copper price fell slightly, and a series of macro economic data which will be released during this week are expected to dominate copper price trend.
