SHANGHAI, June 16 (CBI China) -- Base metal prices fell dragged down by stronger US dollar, and the profit-takings of the speculators even made the situation worse. Three-month LME copper contract closed at USD 5,015/mt, down USD 210/mt. LME inventories declined by 3,300mt, bringing total inventories to 286,975mt. SHFE copper fell significantly yesterday, and the pessimistic sentiment on market fundamentals became higher, so copper price is expected to fluctuate slightly today.
