TOKYO, June 29 -- Japan's refined zinc exports for May fell 39 percent from a year earlier to 8,717 tonnes, with Taiwan accounting for the largest share of export volume, Ministry of Finance data showed on Tuesday.

China and Indonesia are also key markets for Japan's zinc, which is mainly used as an anti-corrosive coating in galvanised steel production and in plating.

It was the fifth straight month of year-on-year decline and accelerated from April's 26 percent fall.
