Auto Output, Sales May Exceed 15 mln Units in 2010: CAAM

BEIJING, June 18 -- China's average monthly auto output and auto sales were both over 1.5 million units during January to May this year, paving the way for realizing the annual output and sales target of 15 million units, said Zhu Yiping,  assistant secretary-general of the China Association of Automobile Manufactures.

In May, vehicles produced and sold in China were 1.42 million units and 1.44 million units respectively, up 27.8% and 28.35% year on year, down 9.39% and 7.5% month on month.

China is the world's largest automaker and consumer. The country's auto output and sales in 2009 were both over 13 million units, a record figure year-on-year.
