Jiangsu Sees Rapid Growth in Clean-Energy Industry

Feb. 25 -- Jiangsu Province on Feb. 23 saw total cumulative investment in the clean-energy industry in Rudong County exceed RMB 6 billion and saw total generating capacity hit 1.35 billion kilowatt hours, including 1.22 billion kWh from wind power.

The total power generated from clean-energy reduced carbon monoxide emissions by 1.52 million tons.

Rudong aims to have a total installed capacity of 4.22 million kW of wind power in the next three to five years.

Reportedly, Jiangsu Province's first charging station for electrical vehicles went into operation in Nanjing last month. The city hopes to build 30 charging stations and more than 100 pilot charging facilities in the 12th five-year plan, which will be in effect from 2011 to 2015.
