2009 September Zn Output Data Analysis
SHANGHAI, Oct. 23 (SMM) --
Zinc Concentrate:
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), China's output of zinc concentrate was 314kt during September, up 14.2% from August's 275kt. YTD output was 2.11 million mt, down 11.1% YoY. Domestic output of zinc concentrate grew on a monthly basis, a result of steadily rising zinc prices since hitting a record low of RMB 12,710/mt in July. China's production of zinc concentrate should remain stable during October, with output estimated at 300kt.
Refined Zinc:
According to NBS, China's output of refined zinc was 410.3kt during September, generally flat at Augusts' output of 415kt. YTD output was 3.1 million mt, up 5.2% YoY. China's zinc output is expected to reach as high as 400kt during October.
